What Does Your Front Door Color Say About You

October 29, 2018 by Marina Klima 2 Comments

When visitors come to your home for the first time, do you describe your house by the front door color?

“We’re the second-to-last house on the left. The one with the very pretty red front door color.”

You may have never thought about it, but your front door color says a lot about your personality. Whether you’ve just painted your front door or are looking for a new color for the front of your abode, you’ll find these observations quite interesting. Your front door says a lot about your family’s personality but it also gives visitors an indication of what they might find inside.

Black

To some, black may seem boring. To you, it’s everything. Black is sleek and modern with a bit of mystery. It’s trendy and timeless at the same time. Can you say that of any other color? If you have a black front door color, you might like to watch old classic movies while you sip on your dirty martini. Or maybe you’re binge-watching OITNB and sipping on a microbrew, but you’re feeling super fancy about it.

Red

Red is bold and inviting, and it makes a huge statement about your personality. Although it’s a color that stands out, red doors can also have a traditional vibe.

If you paint your door red, you’re making sure everyone knows how to find your home. You like to entertain, and you want to make sure everyone feels welcome.

White

White might be the door color your house came with, but it’s special nonetheless. If you chose to paint your door white, you might have an affinity for cleanliness and organization. This neutral and versatile color works perfectly for any front door style. Upon entry, guests might expect a perfectly organized pantry complimented by bright, fresh, and airy furnishings.

Yellow

When you paint your door the color of sunshine, it says a lot about who you are or who you aspire to be. You may not realize this, but the room lights up whenever you enter. You bring sunshine and light wherever you go. Even at a glance, your home puts a smile on the faces of people who pass by. You’re probably a morning person with a great deal of energy. Or maybe that’s just what’s in your heart.

Blue

If your front door color is a deep or royal blue, it’s a good sign that you’re a grounded and peaceful person. You treasure the important things in life and love to decorate your home with things that have great sentimental value. Just like your door, your personality is fun and vibrant. Your home is the place that makes people feel like they belong.

Green

Those who paint their doors green often also have green thumbs. Your garden is lush and beautiful, and your door is painted to match. Your personality is laidback and easy, and you care about your friends and family more than anyone or anything. Financial security is also important to you and your family.

Orange

Orange is the color that’s most often associated with fall. When you think orange, you might think of changing leaves and pumpkin spiced lattes. Orange is a very warm color. If you paint your door orange, you have a warm heart and a welcoming vibe. You love to plan parties, but you’re not about that nightlife scene. Your favorite gatherings are the ones where you cook your guests’ favorite dinner and invite them to stay for after-dinner drinks and games.

Pink

You’re a hopeless romantic, and you’re not afraid to shout it from the rooftops (or from your front door). You’re also a generous friend who understands the importance of self-care. You know that you must take care of yourself first in order to take the best care of anyone else. And everyone else reaps the benefits of your self-realization.

Now that you know what the various door colors mean, you might look at your neighbors differently.

Tell me, Do you think their front door colors match their personalities?
