Mother’s Day without flowers is like a song without love words. But do you really know the meaning of every flower and the symbolism?
Before I read The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh I had no idea about the meaning of each kind of flower.
Here are the descriptions that I borrowed from the book:
Amaryllis signifies determination, beauty, and love. Amaryllis flowers are also associated with amaryllis with strength and determination because of their height and sturdiness. Many cultures give this flower as a gift of hard-won achievement to signify success.
Red roses symbolize love, romance, beauty, and perfection. This is a gorgeous floral pattern, perfect for a romantic!
Daisies symbolize beauty, innocence, and purity. This is a great flower pattern for children, nieces, or godchildren.
Tulips stand for deep love and convey comfort and warmth. This is an excellent floral pattern to give someone in honor of a person very special to them.
Casa Blanca Lilies mean beauty, class, and style. This would make for a great floral pattern or floral image for mothers, or other strong women role models in your life.
Orchids signify beauty, luxury, and strength. This pattern or image would make for an excellent office decor gift for someone’s first job or a first big promotion.
Because many people give beautiful bouquets of flowers on Mother’s Day they can include many of the flowers. But if you surprise your mom with the story of each of them she might appreciate it.
If your mom loves flowers as much as floral home decor
From plates, to throw pillows, to rugs, to candles– there are many ways to give the gift of flowers. Pick several home decor gifts that your flower-loving mom will bring her joy every day, like a floral rug to greet her when she comes home or a floral jewelry tray to hold her favorite rings and earrings.
